The quick answer

If you're building an AI product and want proof from other AI companies, not generic SaaS, SearchAxe and SEO Circular tie on points at the top of this list. SearchAxe is ours and is built for exactly that buyer, while SEO Circular prices its plans by funding stage and names AI product clients, though its B2B results are anonymized. Embarque and SimpleTiger sit one point behind, Embarque for fixed monthly deliverables at a published price and SimpleTiger for pipeline dashboards and in-house production, but no named AI company SEO work. Whoever you shortlist, us included, ask for a client name and the baseline the result was measured from.

How we ranked these agencies

  1. 01

    Named AI startup results

Two or more published search or AI answer case studies that name an AI company. Named SaaS work without an AI client, or anonymized AI work, scores partial.

  2. 02

Google, Bing and AI answers in one plan

One roadmap for rankings and for citations in AI answers, included in the plan an early startup would actually buy.

  3. 03

Signups and pipeline in the report

The agency says it reports trials, signups, demos, pipeline or revenue. Rankings, traffic or mention counts on their own score partial.

  4. 04

Built for seed to Series B

Names seed, Series A or Series B companies as a fit. A startups-to-enterprise pitch with no stage band scores partial.

  5. 05

    The agency ships the work

Writes the pages, makes the technical fixes and earns the links itself, instead of handing your team a list of recommendations.

  6. 06

    Price visible before the call

Yes means published prices. Partial means a published pricing rule or a stated quote process. No means neither is published.

SearchAxe is on this list, and we scored it against the same six criteria as every other agency. We used only public information from each agency's own site, checked on October 6, 2026. Each yes earns two points and each partial one. To be listed, an agency had to publish at least one named SaaS or AI case study and not rule out companies before product-market fit. We considered ten agencies, SearchAxe included, and list seven; the three we left out are named in the answers below. SearchAxe and SEO Circular tie on points, and SearchAxe sits first because it is our agency, not because it outscores SEO Circular. Other ties are ordered by case studies, then stage fit, then pipeline reporting, then name.

How to choose

Questions worth asking on the first call with any agency.

  • Which AI companies have you worked with, by name, and what was their baseline before you started?
  • Our category is months old. How will you find what buyers type and ask before they use our category name?
  • Does the plan you're quoting include work on AI answers, or is that a higher tier?
  • Who writes the pages and who ships the technical fixes, and can we meet them before we sign?
  • What will the monthly report show besides traffic and rankings?

Red flags when hiring

Results with no client name attached

Plenty of agencies anonymize their work, and for an AI startup that makes it hard to check. Ask for one named client in a category like yours.

AI answer work kept for the top tier

If the plan you can afford leaves out AI engines, you're paying for half the job. Check which tier your quote is for.

A ranking that hides its rules

Every shortlist, this one included, should state what it scored and let you check the scores. A list with no criteria is an advert.

How we get started

From first call to work in progress in three steps.

  1. 01

    Book a free consultation

A call about your product, your market and where you stand in AI answers and search today.

  2. 02

Get a plan and a quote

We send a plan for what we would do first, with a clear quote for the work.

  3. 03

    Work starts right away

Once the plan and quote are approved, the work starts immediately.

What clients say

We had thousands of pages going nowhere. Amit cleaned that up and rebuilt our landing pages. Our top three rankings are up 362% and our citations across AI engines have grown more than a hundred times.

Nan Ha Nan Ha Product Growth Lead, Viggle AI Read the Viggle AI case study

We came to Amit with a good product and almost no search presence. He gave our team a plan we could actually follow. Referring domains are up 183% and our first page rankings have more than tripled.

George Kurdin George Kurdin Co-Founder, Monk Read the Monk case study

Our content was getting published but not landing anywhere. Amit reworked how we format it for AI engines and our citations across all seven engines are up over 400%. The Reddit community he built now brings us leads weekly.

Aditya Nagpal Aditya Nagpal Founder, Wisemonk Read the Wisemonk case study

We launched with a homepage and nothing else. Amit built the search foundation, the landing pages, the blog, the schema. Our domain rating is up 70% and we went from zero AI citations to being quoted by six of the seven AI engines.

Ahad Shams Ahad Shams Founder, HeyOz Read the HeyOz case study

We had multiple pages fighting each other for the same terms. Amit mapped it all out, consolidated what needed consolidating, and rebuilt our service pages. Organic traffic is up 147% and our top three rankings have more than doubled.

Manjunath Thandu Manjunath Thandu CEO, Zivoke Read the Zivoke case study

Agency, in-house or tools

Agency

One team covering strategy, content, technical and authority work. Fastest to start, and you pay for output rather than headcount.

In-house hire

Full control and deep product context, but slow to hire, and one person rarely covers every engine and every discipline.

AI visibility tool

Useful for tracking where you appear. A tool shows the gap, but someone still has to close it.

Frequently asked questions

What should we ask for in an AI startup case study?

A named client in a category like yours, the starting point and the date it was measured, what the agency changed, and which numbers moved, such as rankings, cited pages, AI citations by engine, signups or pipeline. Ask how long it took and what the agency chose not to do. A result without a baseline can't be checked, and a result without a name can't be confirmed on a reference call.

Why do so few agencies publish named AI startup results?

Partly because AI startups are young and wary of showing competitors what works, so agencies anonymize. Partly because many agencies have mostly SaaS, ecommerce or enterprise clients and few AI ones. Of the ten agencies we looked at, only SearchAxe, SEO Circular and Embarque name more than one AI company in their search case studies. Anonymized work isn't fake, but you can't check it, so ask for a reference call.

Which agencies did you leave off, and why?

Three. RankScience states pre-seed to Series B experience but publishes no named case studies or client results, so its claims can't be checked. Passionfruit's published case studies are almost all ecommerce brands, with no named SaaS or AI case study. Minuttia says it is not a fit for teams without product-market fit and focuses on established brands, which rules out most seed AI startups.

Why is SearchAxe listed first on a list it wrote?

Not because it outscores everyone. SearchAxe and SEO Circular both score eleven of twelve on these criteria, and we list SearchAxe first because it is our agency. We built the criteria around what funded AI startups ask for, which is also what we built SearchAxe to do, so weigh that bias. Our card shows a limitation like every other card, and the scoring rules are printed above the list so you can re-score us.

How long before an AI startup sees results from SEO?

Technical fixes and the first buyer-intent pages can ship within weeks, but rankings on a young domain build over months. HeyOz launched with a single homepage and held page-one positions ten months later, which is a realistic pace for a focused program. AI citations can move sooner once the right pages exist and other sites mention you. Be wary of any agency that promises a date.

Do we need one agency for Google and another for AI answers?

Usually not. AI answers that search the web pick sources from search results and from third-party sites that mention you, and ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index. Splitting the work between two vendors tends to produce two roadmaps fighting over the same engineering time. Check that the plan you're quoted includes both, since some agencies keep AI answer work for a higher tier.

How does SearchAxe pricing compare with the agencies here?

We don't publish prices. We do state how pricing works, a plan and a quote after a free consultation with work starting once both are approved, and under this page's rule a stated quote process scores partial, the same as Omnius. SEO Circular and Embarque publish starting prices and SimpleTiger publishes a pricing rule, which makes them easier to budget for before a first call.
