The quick answer

SearchAxe has the highest total here and is the only agency on the list with named AI citation results for more than one client. Optimist comes a close second, with published month-to-month pricing and pipeline-tied reporting for B2B SaaS from Series A onward. Growtika suits B2B AI and security startups that want visibility before a raise, and Omnius brings named AI clients and its own tracking software. Thrive and Minuttia sit at opposite ends, Thrive with the lowest published entry price and Minuttia for established SaaS brands with a content-led brief.

How we ranked these agencies

  1. 01

Named results in search and AI answers

Yes means two or more named SaaS or AI clients with a published AI search outcome. One such client, search-only SaaS results, or unnamed AI results score partial.

  2. 02

One program across Google and AI engines

Rankings in Google and Bing and citations in AI answers handled by the same team under one plan.

  3. 03

    Reports revenue signals

Pipeline, signups, demos or revenue appear in the report. Mentions and share of voice alone score partial, and no stated reporting on either scores no.

  4. 04

Works with seed to Series B

Yes if it names seed or covers the seed to Series B band. Series A onward, startups with no band, or an all-sizes generalist score partial. Established brands only scores no.

  5. 05

Hands on the site and the content

Writes, fixes and earns mentions itself. Content-only or strategy-led delivery scores partial.

  6. 06

    Published prices

Yes means published prices. Partial means a published pricing rule or a stated quote process. No means neither is published.

SearchAxe is one of the six agencies below, scored on the same criteria as the others. Everything comes from public pages on each agency's own site, checked on October 6, 2026. Yes is worth two points and partial one. We considered eleven agencies, SearchAxe included, and list six; the five we dropped publish no named SaaS or AI case study on their own sites. SearchAxe sits first as our agency and also has the highest total, one point ahead of Optimist. Ties are ordered by case studies, then stage fit, then pipeline reporting, then name.

How to choose

Questions worth asking on the first call with any agency.

  • Name a client whose AI citations you moved, and show us the before and after.
  • Can we start with a pilot or month to month, and what ships in the first month?
  • How will you check our visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot?
  • Who fixes crawler access, rendering and schema when our developers are busy?
  • Can we talk to a current client before we sign?

Red flags when hiring

AI SEO that skips Google and Bing

AI answers that search the web pick sources from what already ranks, and ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index. A plan aimed only at AI answers ignores the ground they stand on.

One engine treated as the whole market

Your buyers ask several engines. An agency that tracks one leaves the others to your competitors.

Mention counts with no business number

More mentions only matter if signups or demos follow. Ask how they connect the two.

Thousands of AI-written pages

Volume without editing invites quality problems in search and gives answer engines nothing worth quoting.

No client who will take your call

Testimonials on a site are a start. A current client on the phone tells you far more.

An llms.txt file sold as the fix

A file on its own doesn't get you cited. Treat it as housekeeping, not strategy.

How we get started

From first call to work in progress in three steps.

  1. 01

    Book a free consultation

A call about your product, your market and where you stand in AI answers and search today.

  2. 02

Get a plan and a quote

We send a plan for what we would do first, with a clear quote for the work.

  3. 03

    Work starts right away

Once the plan and quote are approved, the work starts immediately.

What clients say

We had thousands of pages going nowhere. Amit cleaned that up and rebuilt our landing pages. Our top three rankings are up 362% and our citations across AI engines have grown more than a hundred times.

Nan Ha Nan Ha Product Growth Lead, Viggle AI Read the Viggle AI case study

We came to Amit with a good product and almost no search presence. He gave our team a plan we could actually follow. Referring domains are up 183% and our first page rankings have more than tripled.

George Kurdin George Kurdin Co-Founder, Monk Read the Monk case study

Our content was getting published but not landing anywhere. Amit reworked how we format it for AI engines and our citations across all seven engines are up over 400%. The Reddit community he built now brings us leads weekly.

Aditya Nagpal Aditya Nagpal Founder, Wisemonk Read the Wisemonk case study

We launched with a homepage and nothing else. Amit built the search foundation, the landing pages, the blog, the schema. Our domain rating is up 70% and we went from zero AI citations to being quoted by six of the seven AI engines.

Ahad Shams Ahad Shams Founder, HeyOz Read the HeyOz case study

We had multiple pages fighting each other for the same terms. Amit mapped it all out, consolidated what needed consolidating, and rebuilt our service pages. Organic traffic is up 147% and our top three rankings have more than doubled.

Agency, in-house or tools

Agency

One team covering strategy, content, technical and authority work. Fastest to start, and you pay for output rather than headcount.

In-house hire

Full control and deep product context, but slow to hire, and one person rarely covers every engine and every discipline.

AI visibility tool

Useful for tracking where you appear. A tool shows the gap, but someone still has to close it.

Frequently asked questions

What do agencies mean by AI SEO?

Usually two jobs in one. The first is classic search work so your pages rank in Google and Bing. The second is getting your product cited and recommended in AI answers, through pages that state plainly what you do, mentions on sites answer engines read, and crawler access. An AI SEO agency worth hiring runs both from one roadmap, because the second depends heavily on the first.

Which of these agencies work month to month or on a pilot?

Optimist bills full service month to month and also sells a one-off roadmap. Thrive says it has no long-term contracts. The others on this list don't state their terms publicly, so ask on the first call. SearchAxe sets scope and terms in the plan and quote we send after a free consultation, and work starts only once you approve them.

Did you use client reviews to rank these agencies?

No. Review sites are uneven and easy to game, so we used only what each agency publishes about itself, such as named case studies, client names, services and prices. That means our scores show what each agency can prove in public, not how happy its clients are. Ask any agency you shortlist, us included, for a current client you can call.

Why aren't iPullRank, Onely, Level Agency, Coalition Technologies or Passionfruit listed?

None of the five publishes a named SaaS or AI case study on its own site, which is the bar for this list. iPullRank positions for enterprise and mid-market brands. Onely publishes no case studies and says it doesn't write content. Level Agency is a performance marketing shop for high-consideration brands. Coalition Technologies centres on ecommerce and lead generation. Passionfruit's published case studies are mostly ecommerce.

Do these agencies write the content themselves?

Most do. SearchAxe, Growtika, Omnius, Thrive and Optimist's full-service plan all say their own teams write content and handle technical work. Minuttia produces content and digital PR but doesn't list technical implementation. Optimist's advisory plan is strategy only, so check which plan a quote covers. Whoever writes, ask who checks the pages for accuracy before they go live.

How quickly do AI citations move compared with rankings?

Citations can move sooner, because answer engines pick up new pages and fresh third-party mentions without waiting for a page to climb. Rankings on competitive terms take longer and keep compounding. HeyOz shows both sides, with 91 AI citations from none and page-one positions ten months after launching with a single homepage. Read both against a baseline set before the work starts.

What does SearchAxe charge for this work?

We don't publish prices. We state our quote process, and under this page's rule that scores partial, the same as Omnius. Scope differs a lot between a seed team and a Series B company. After a free consultation we send a plan and a quote, and work starts once you approve both. If you need a published number before talking to anyone, Optimist and Thrive both list one.
