Fractional SEO

Fractional SEO for Founders Who Should Not Be Doing It

You're the founder, SEO keeps landing on your list, and you don't want to build a team to own it. Fractional SEO from SearchAxe gives you one senior lead, part-time, who sets the priorities for search and AI answers and makes sure the work ships. HeyOz launched with a single homepage and now has 91 AI citations, up from none.

Why SEO stalls when the founder owns it

Founders usually know what SEO should do for the company. What they lack is the weekly hours to decide, brief, check and ship. So it slides behind hiring, fundraising and product, and the site stays where it was last quarter.

I don't have time to do SEO

You've read the guides and you know the comparison pages matter. Then a customer escalation or an investor call eats the afternoon you blocked for it.

We can't justify a senior hire yet

A full-time SEO lead needs writers, engineering time and budget to be useful. Hiring one person and giving them nothing to work with wastes both.

Freelancers wait to be told what to do

A freelance writer or link builder can carry out a plan. Somebody still has to write the plan, check the output and decide what comes next, and right now that is you.

What a fractional SEO lead does week to week

You get one senior person who owns search and AI visibility as if they were on staff, for part of the week. Amit Malvi leads every fractional engagement, hands-on work is done under his review, and it all happens in your tools, not in a slide deck.

01

One owner for every search decision

Which pages to build, which to cut, what engineering should fix next. Decisions get made and written down without waiting for a founder meeting.

02

A weekly check-in that ends in decisions

A short call or a written update, your choice. What shipped, what is blocked and the one thing we need from you that week.

03

Work done, not delegated back to you

We write the important pages, fix the technical issues we can reach and run outreach ourselves. Briefs go to your team only where that is faster.

04

Clear direction for writers and engineers

Your writers get briefs with the search intent and buyer prompts behind each page. Engineers get tickets with the exact change and the reason for it.

05

Search and AI answers on one roadmap

One plan covers Google and Bing rankings and citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot.

06

Ready to hand over when you hire

Roadmap, baseline, templates and past decisions are documented as we go, so a future full-time hire picks up the work instead of restarting it.

Covered on every engine your buyers use

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Google AI Overviews
  • Google AI Mode
  • Copilot

ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index, so Bing rankings feed AI answers. We work on search and AI engines as one program.

How it works

The same four steps on every engagement, with a clear view of what to expect at 30, 60 and 90 days.

  1. 01

    Understand

Map your product, buyers, competitors and the prompts and searches that decide your category.

Days 1 to 30. A fixed baseline across every engine and the prompts that matter.

  2. 02

    Prioritize

Pick the few moves that will get you recommended fastest and turn them into a focused roadmap.

Days 1 to 30. A focused roadmap agreed, with the first fixes already shipping.

  3. 03

    Execute

Do the technical, content, authority and AI visibility work ourselves.

Days 30 to 60. Content, technical and authority work shipping every week.

  4. 04

    Improve

Track citations, rankings and conversions against the baseline and keep refining.

Days 60 to 90. A first read against the baseline, then the next quarter planned.

Questions buyers ask us

Is fractional SEO the same as hiring a consultant?

Close, with a different centre of gravity. A consulting engagement is built around decisions and reviews. A fractional lead owns the channel week to week, as if on staff part-time, and keeps the work moving between reviews. You talk to the same person every week, and that person carries context on your product, your team and last month's decisions.

How many hours a week do we get?

We don't sell blocks of hours. The plan we send after the free consultation lists what we will own and ship each month, and the quote follows from that. Some weeks are heavy on writing or technical fixes, others on outreach and review. Pricing by output keeps attention on what ships, not on filling a timesheet.

What do you need from me as the founder?

Context at the start, then very little. We need to understand who buys, why they choose you and what you refuse to claim about the product. After that, expect a short weekly check-in and a monthly review. Approvals on key pages come to you or to whoever you nominate, and everything else runs without you.

Can you work with our writer and our developers?

Yes, and most fractional engagements do. Your writer gets briefs built around the searches and prompts behind each page, plus edits on drafts. Your developers get specific tickets, for example a canonical fix or a rendering change, with the reason attached. Where doing it ourselves is quicker than briefing it, we just do it.

What happens if we hire a full-time SEO later?

Good, that is often the right next step. Everything we build is documented as we go, so your hire inherits the roadmap, the baseline, the templates and the reasoning behind past decisions. We can overlap for a handover and step back once they are settled. You are never locked in to keep the work running.

How long until we see movement?

Technical fixes and the first new pages usually ship in month one. Rankings and AI citations respond more slowly, and the first fair read against your baseline comes around day 90. HeyOz is a useful reference for patience. It launched with a single homepage and reached page-one positions ten months later, with no shortcuts in between.

Who exactly is the fractional lead?

Amit Malvi, who founded SearchAxe. He spent four and a half years at Invideo AI, rising from SEO Executive to Senior SEO Manager, and built and led a 20-person link building team there. He leads every fractional engagement, sets its priorities and reviews the hands-on work before it ships.

Do you cover AI answers or only Google?

Both, as one program. AI answers that search the web pick their sources from search results and from the third-party sites that talk about you. ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index. Splitting search and AI answers between two people usually produces two roadmaps that compete for the same engineering time.

What does a fractional SEO lead cost?

We don't publish prices, because scope differs a lot between a seed team and a Series B company. After a free consultation we send a plan describing what the fractional lead owns and ships each month, with a quote. Work starts as soon as you approve both, with no paid discovery phase first.
