Claude visibility

Claude SEO Agency for Getting Cited When Claude Searches

Claude answers from its training data unless it searches the web, and when it searches it cites the pages it used. SearchAxe is the Claude SEO agency for funded AI startups that makes your docs and product pages the ones it finds, then grows the signups that follow. HeyOz went from no AI citations to 91.

Why Claude can explain your competitor's product and not yours

Claude has two ways to know about you. Without search, it relies on training data that stops at a cutoff date, so a young startup may simply be missing. With search, it looks pages up and cites them, which means the page it lands on, often docs, a pricing page or someone else's comparison, decides how you're described.

Claude says it doesn't know our product

Ask without search and Claude may say it has no reliable information, or mix you up with a similarly named company. That's the training cutoff at work, and only search or a newer model gets past it.

Signups list claude.ai, and we don't know why

A few demo requests show claude.ai as the referrer, and nobody knows which answer sent them. Without knowing which pages Claude cites, you can't do more of what worked.

Our docs are a JavaScript app crawlers can't read

The docs render in the browser, so a crawler that doesn't run JavaScript sees an empty shell. Claude ends up citing a forum answer about your API instead of your own reference page.

What our Claude SEO agency does for docs, pages and referrals

We work on the pages Claude is most likely to fetch for your buyers' questions, the crawler rules that decide whether it can fetch them, and the reporting that shows which answers turn into signups. Anthropic publishes little about how Claude ranks search results, so we test instead of guessing.

01

Claude's search crawlers let through

Anthropic documents ClaudeBot for training, Claude-SearchBot for search and Claude-User for fetches a person asks for. We set robots.txt and firewall rules to match what you want.

02

Docs that read cleanly without JavaScript

We make sure docs, API references and changelogs serve their text in the HTML, with clear headings and one topic per page, so any crawler gets the full content.

03

Brand pages that answer evaluation questions

About, pricing, security and comparison pages that state who you serve, how you differ and how pricing works, so a cited passage carries your positioning with it.

04

Ready for long, cited research reports

Claude's Research feature runs many searches and returns a report with citations. We build the comparison and alternatives pages a vendor shortlist report is likely to draw on.

05

Coverage that future training can pick up

Answers given without search reflect how the public web described you before the cutoff. We earn accurate coverage now so later models learn the current version of you.

06

claude.ai referrals traced to signups

We track claude.ai referrals, match landing pages to the prompts that likely sent them, and report signups and demos against the baseline we set before work starts.

Covered on every engine your buyers use

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Google AI Overviews
  • Google AI Mode
  • Copilot

ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index, so Bing rankings feed AI answers. We work on search and AI engines as one program.

Questions buyers ask us

How does Claude decide which sites to cite?

Anthropic hasn't published Claude's ranking rules. What's documented: Claude can search the web, it cites the sources it used, and it runs its own crawlers to fetch pages. What we observe: it tends to cite pages that answer the question directly, docs for technical prompts, and third-party comparisons for vendor questions. We test your prompts rather than rely on general patterns.

Which search index does Claude use?

Anthropic doesn't document which index sits behind Claude's web search, so we don't build a plan on a guess. What it does document is Claude-SearchBot, its search crawler. None of our advice depends on the index: keep Claude's crawlers allowed, make pages readable without JavaScript and earn rankings on Google and Bing, since pages that rank there usually hold up in other indexes too.

How long before Claude starts citing us?

Search answers can pick up a page once Claude's search can find it, so crawler access and docs structure are the faster fixes. Answers without search change only when Anthropic trains a newer model, which follows its release schedule, not ours. We read search-side progress at day 90 against the baseline and are clear about which part moved.

We're seeing claude.ai referrals. How do we get more?

Start with the pages those visits land on, since they show what Claude already trusts you for. We work out the prompts that likely lead there, build neighbouring pages for related questions, and strengthen the third-party sources that back them up. Then we track whether the extra visits turn into signups and demos, not just sessions.

Should we block ClaudeBot?

It's your call, and it's separate from search. Anthropic lists ClaudeBot as its training crawler, Claude-SearchBot for search and Claude-User for user requests. Blocking ClaudeBot keeps your content out of future training, while blocking Claude-SearchBot can reduce how often you appear in search answers. We set the rules to match the choice you make.

Does llms.txt help with Claude?

Anthropic hasn't said that Claude's search uses llms.txt to choose or cite sites, so we don't sell it as a lever. It can help a developer who pastes your docs into Claude, and it's cheap to publish. We add one when it's useful to your users and spend the real effort on pages and crawler access.

If Claude cites us, will the other engines too?

Often, but not automatically. Readable docs, clear brand pages, open crawler rules and accurate third-party mentions are what every engine reads, so the same work carries across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot. Each engine picks its own sources, so we report results by engine and you can see where Claude stands against the rest each month.

What does Claude SEO cost?

Quoted after a free consultation. Scope depends on how much of your docs and brand pages need rebuilding and how many prompts matter to your buyers. We send a plan and a quote together, and work starts once you approve both. There are no package tiers, because two docs sites rarely need the same fixes.

Can you show results from Claude alone?

Not yet, and we won't invent one. The engine set behind our published case studies didn't include Claude, so there is no Claude figure to show. Across the engines that were tracked, HeyOz went from no AI citations to 91 and Wisemonk's pages cited in AI answers went from 70 to 299. For new clients, Claude is in the prompt set and reported as its own line every month.
