AI SEO agency

The AI SEO Agency for Rankings and AI Citations

An AI SEO agency should cover two things, rankings on Google and Bing and citations in AI answers. For funded AI startups we run both as one program, from prompt research to the pages and mentions engines quote, and we say plainly what's out of scope. HeyOz started with no AI citations and now has 91.

What founders mean when they ask for an AI SEO agency

AI SEO is the work of earning a place in AI-generated answers while holding your rankings in Google and Bing. Many agencies sell it as three separate services (SEO, generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization). We treat it as one scope of work, because the same pages, sources and fixes drive all three.

Our agency treats AI answers as an add-on

You get the same keyword report as two years ago, plus one slide about AI. Nobody has tested which prompts name your competitors instead of you.

Nobody can tell us what AI SEO includes

Every proposal uses the label differently, from prompt tracking to blog posts written with AI. Without a clear scope you can't compare quotes or hold anyone to a result.

The AI writing tool just added more pages

Hundreds of generated posts added URLs and no citations. Engines quote pages with clear claims and outside corroboration, not volume.

What our AI SEO services include, and what they leave out

Six pieces of work make up the program, and every client gets all six. What we leave out matters as much. No bought links, no mass-generated pages and no promised positions, because each one either breaks search engine guidelines or promises something nobody controls.

01

Prompt research before keyword research

We collect the questions buyers ask AI engines about your category, run them on every engine and log who gets named and which sources are cited.

02

Pages written to be quoted

Definitions, comparison tables and direct answers near the top of each page, so an engine can lift a passage with your positioning intact.

03

Rankings that feed the answers

On-page and technical work for Google and Bing, because AI answers that search the web pick sources from search results. ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index.

04

Mentions on the sources engines trust

Placements on review sites, roundups and community threads that keep appearing in citations for your category's prompts.

05

The same facts everywhere engines look

One product name, category and set of claims across your site, schema, profiles and listings, so every engine describes you alike.

06

One report for both channels

Citations by engine, rankings and signups side by side, each read against the snapshot taken before any work began.

Covered on every engine your buyers use

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Google AI Overviews
  • Google AI Mode
  • Copilot

ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index, so Bing rankings feed AI answers. We work on search and AI engines as one program.

How it works

The same four steps on every engagement, with a clear view of what to expect at 30, 60 and 90 days.

  1. 01

    Understand

Map your product, buyers, competitors and the prompts and searches that decide your category.

Days 1 to 30. A fixed baseline across every engine and the prompts that matter.

  2. 02

    Prioritize

Pick the few moves that will get you recommended fastest and turn them into a focused roadmap.

Days 1 to 30. A focused roadmap agreed, with the first fixes already shipping.

  3. 03

    Execute

Do the technical, content, authority and AI visibility work ourselves.

Days 30 to 60. Content, technical and authority work shipping every week.

  4. 04

    Improve

Track citations, rankings and conversions against the baseline and keep refining.

Days 60 to 90. A first read against the baseline, then the next quarter planned.

Questions buyers ask us

Does AI SEO mean you write our content with AI?

Not in our case. The phrase covers two different things in this market, using AI tools to churn out SEO content, and optimising so AI answers cite you. We do the second. Pages we ship are edited by someone who knows your product, because engines quote clear, specific claims and generic generated copy rarely contains any.

Do AI SEO services include Google and Bing, or only AI answers?

Both. For AI answers that means ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot, and for organic search it means Google and Bing. We track each engine separately, because for the same prompt they often cite different sources, and a fix that moves one may do nothing for another.

How long before AI answers start citing us?

Fixes to how engines read your site can show within weeks of being recrawled. Citations that depend on new pages and third-party mentions build over months. We set the baseline in the first 30 days and do the first proper read at day 90. HeyOz got from zero to 91 citations through sustained work, not a single sprint.

Is this different from what our SEO agency already does?

Partly. Technical health, on-page work and links still matter, and they overlap. The difference is the starting point and the scoreboard. We begin with the prompts buyers ask AI engines, look at which sources get cited, and count citations by engine alongside rankings. Most SEO retainers never look at either.

Can you work alongside our current SEO agency?

We can, if the split is clear. The usual arrangement is that we own prompt research, citation work and third-party mentions while they keep technical maintenance. Two teams editing the same pages causes conflicts, so we agree in writing who changes what before anything ships.

What won't you do?

We don't buy links, run private blog networks or mass-publish AI-written pages. We don't promise a ranking position or a citation count by a date, because nobody controls how engines answer. And we don't take on products that aren't live yet, since there's nothing for an engine to cite.

Do you offer AI SEO consulting without execution?

Execution is our default, because recommendations left in a document don't change what engines cite. If your team already has writers and an engineer who can ship, we can lead strategy and review their work instead. That split gets agreed in the plan we send after the free consultation.

How do you prove the work is paying off?

Before anything starts we record which prompts name you on each engine, how many of your pages get cited, your Google and Bing rankings and organic signups. Every monthly report compares against that snapshot. Viggle AI's cited pages went from 4 to 279 measured this way, and it's why we never report without one.
