Three Google AI answers that disagree about your product

The Gemini app, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode build answers differently, but they share Google's index and Google's understanding of who you are. When your site, profiles and third-party pages disagree about what you sell, each surface can pick a different version, and some pick a competitor. In the Gemini app a buyer can also keep narrowing a shortlist over several turns, so you have to survive the follow-ups.

Gemini calls us something we stopped being

A launch tagline or an old category still comes back when a buyer asks what you do. The Gemini app can answer from what the model learned in training, and that can trail your current site.

We show up in one Google answer only

You appear in Google AI Overviews for a category search, then vanish when the same buyer asks Google AI Mode or the Gemini app a follow-up. Each surface asks Google different questions, and only some reach your pages.

We make the first shortlist, then get dropped

Gemini names you, then the buyer asks which option suits a small team or works with their stack, and you fall out. Your site never answered that narrower question.

What a Gemini SEO agency does across Google's surfaces

Google's own guidance says its AI features rely on the same Search systems and best practices as the rest of Google. So the work is Google SEO done properly, plus two things most SEO plans skip: one consistent set of facts about your company, and pages that answer the narrower questions buyers ask mid-conversation.

01

One fact sheet Google can trust

We write down the canonical facts about your company, category, audience, pricing model and integrations, then align your site, structured data and main profiles to them.

02

Organization markup that matches reality

We add or fix Organization and software product structured data, with sameAs links to the profiles you control, so Google connects your site, profiles and brand name.

03

Pages for the questions asked in turn two

We map what buyers ask after the first shortlist, such as integrations, team size, security and alternatives, and build pages that answer each one directly.

04

Testing on all three Google surfaces

We run the same buyer prompts in the Gemini app, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and log where each one names you, skips you or gets your facts wrong.

05

Pages eligible to be a supporting link

Google says a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear as a supporting link. We fix indexation, rendering and snippet settings that quietly rule pages out.

06

Google data read alongside prompt tests

Search Console counts AI Overviews and AI Mode clicks inside the web report, not separately. We pair it with prompt testing and signups so you see the full picture.

Covered on every engine your buyers use

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Claude
  • Gemini
  • Google AI Overviews
  • Google AI Mode
  • Copilot

ChatGPT search and Copilot draw on Bing's index, so Bing rankings feed AI answers. We work on search and AI engines as one program.

Questions buyers ask us

Is Gemini SEO different from Google SEO?

Mostly it is Google SEO, because the Gemini app, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode all ground answers in Google Search. The difference is in what you test and fix: conversational follow-ups, how consistently Google describes your company, and whether your pages can be quoted. Rankings get you into the pool. Clear, consistent facts decide whether you're picked.

Does the Gemini app use Google Search?

When it needs current information it can ground answers in Google Search, and it offers a double-check option that compares its answer with search results. Otherwise it answers from what the model learned in training. You can't choose which happens for a buyer's prompt, though grounded answers usually show their sources, so we test both behaviours instead of assuming one.

How long before Gemini changes how it describes us?

Search-grounded answers can change once Google recrawls the pages you fix. Answers from training data change only when Google ships an updated model, which runs on Google's timeline. Third-party profiles take longest, because other sites update when they choose. We read progress at day 90 against the baseline and show which surfaces moved and which didn't.

Which Google surface matters most for us?

It depends on where your buyers ask. Category searches on Google often trigger Google AI Overviews, longer research happens in Google AI Mode, and some buyers ask the Gemini app directly. We test all three against your prompts in the first month, then weight the plan toward whichever one your buyers actually use.

Do we need a Knowledge Panel?

It helps, but you can't buy or apply for one. Google shows a panel when it's confident about an entity. What you control is the evidence: consistent facts on your site, structured data with sameAs links and accurate profiles elsewhere. We build that evidence, and if a panel appears you can claim it through Google's verification.

Does Google-focused work help on the other engines?

Yes. Consistent facts, quotable pages and clean indexation are what every engine reads, so the same work carries across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot. Bing gets the same care as Google in our plans, because some of those engines draw on Bing's index rather than Google's.

Does blocking Google-Extended keep us out of Gemini?

It limits Gemini, not Google Search. Google documents Google-Extended as the control for whether your content trains Gemini models and grounds answers in the Gemini app. It doesn't affect Google Search, so it doesn't affect Google AI Overviews. Blocking it can make the Gemini app less likely to use your pages, so for most startups we leave it open. We review your robots rules either way.

What does Gemini SEO cost?

Quoted after a free consultation, once we know how much of your Google presence needs fixing and how many prompts matter. You get a plan and a quote together. Work starts when you approve both, and every result is read against a baseline recorded before the first change ships.

Can you show Gemini-specific results?

We don't split our figures by Google surface, so we won't claim a Gemini-only number we can't show you. What we can show: for Viggle AI, keywords ranking in Google's top three rose 362%, and pages cited in AI answers went from 4 to 279. Wisemonk's citations across AI answer engines rose 414%. Your reports will track each Google surface separately.
